Why Vee/Ra?
Vee/Ra was born from a love of drinks that do more than taste good. We craft functional blends that nourish the body and open the senses – drawing from ancient traditions, but made for modern lives. Our name holds the balance of masculine and feminine, reminding us that wellness is about harmony in all things.
Our Story
Before Vee/Ra, our lives unfolded in fast-moving worlds – computers, media, and finance – where productivity was believed to equal success. Each of us felt the call for something different: a slower, more intentional way of living that truly nourishes body, mind, and spirit.
Cacao became our guide. Through her medicine, we discovered not just a drink, but a daily ritual – a way of connecting with ourselves, each other, and the natural world. Vee/Ra is our offering: handcrafted blends that carry this same spirit of care, inviting you to pause, sip, and reconnect.

Though we also create coffee alternatives, herbal blends, and nourishing tonics, cacao remains at the heart of our work. Who We Are
Matthew – Matthew’s path began in IT but has grown into the work of an alchemist and medicine man, guided by the teachings of cacao. His passion lies in cellular and plant nutrition, exploring how food can bring the body into rhythm with the cycles of nature. At Vee/Ra, he shares these insights as a philosophy of nourishment – practical ways for all of us to live in harmony with ourselves and the earth.
Willem – with a former background in video editing and television post production, Willem is an epicurist at heart, with a love for travel, food, flavour, café culture, branding, dark chocolate, and meaningful connection. A devoted student of cacao, mysticism, tantra, temple arts, and the art of deep listening, he curates experiences – whether through drinks, music, dance, or conversation – that invite people to slow down and connect more deeply. With a refined sense for taste and design, he ensures Vee/Ra reflects both substance and beauty in every detail.
Rob – Rob’s journey began in the world of finance, where he saw firsthand how unsustainable and unethical practices shaped global trade. His passion for peak performance and wellness led him to cacao and herbal medicine as healthier, more ethical alternatives to coffee. Today, he ensures Vee/Ra remains true to its vision of integrity and balance.
